Nicole Rollender’s poetry, nonfiction and projects have been published or are forthcoming in The Adroit Journal, Alaska Quarterly Review, Best New Poets 2014, Creative Nonfiction, MiPOesias, Radar Poetry, Ruminate Magazine, PANK, Salt Hill Journal and THRUSH Poetry Journal, among others. Nicole’s poem “Rise Up” is the winner of CALYX Journal’s 2014 Lois Cranston Memorial Prize. She’s the winner of the 2012 Princemere Journal’s Poetry Prize for her poem “Quickening,” as well as Ruminate Magazine’s 2012 Janet B. McCabe Poetry Prize for her Pushcart Prize-nominated poem “Necessary Work,” chosen by Li-Young Lee. She is the author of the poetry chapbooks Absence of Stars (dancing girl press & studio, 2015), Bone of My Bone (Blood Pudding Press, 2015)  and Arrangement of Desire was published by Pudding House Publications. She received her MFA from The Pennsylvania State University, and currently serves as Poetry Editor for ELJ Publications.

She is also editor of Stitches magazine and executive director of professional development for the Advertising Specialty Institute, the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry. Under her tenure, Stitches has won a Jesse H. Neal Award for “Best Single Issue” and “Magazine of the Year” from the American Society of Business Publication Editors. She started and oversees ASI’s industry certification program; since its inception in 2010, 31,000 professionals have enrolled in the live and online training, and 1,250 have been certified. She plans more than 50 live educational sessions a year at company trade shows; in addition, she manages ASI’s digital campus, in which more than 350 courses are housed. Before joining ASI in 2006, she was managing editor of two monthly trade publications. She has also served as special projects editor for The Journal of Commerce and the Shipper Group of magazines.
