George-Rupert is a struggling writer and failing donkey parent who is trying to navigate suburban absurdities and moonshot dreams alongside his unsympathetic wife. Then Gene, a reaper, moves into The Hills and befriends him alone. A relationship with cloaked death becomes one more complication, or perhaps salvation, as his life threatens to fall apart.
