If you put your ear to the track you can here her ‘silvery steel, / [her] ponderous side-bars, parallel and connecting rods, gyrating, / shuttling at [her] sides’ in the poems of Natalie Byers; here comes the Sister of the Dead to make you run or lay down between the tracks and watch her entire world pass over you. About the Author

Natalie Byers is an MFA candidate at Vermont College of Fine Arts. She received her MA from Missouri State University where she continues to serve as a poetry assistant editor for Moon City Review. The Great and Terrible is her first chapbook. Her work can also be found in Slipstream, foothill, Upstart, BopDeadCity, Paddleshots, and elsewhere.
