About the Author:

Mary Fifield’s fiction has appeared in publications such as J Journal, Midway Journal, and Colere, and her essay “The Road to Tena”was anthologized in Women Reinvented: True Stories of Empowerment and Change. Mary received a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from San Diego State University. She has written two novels and is working on a an essay collection about living in the Ecuadorian Amazon. She blogs on art, conservation, and international development here.
