Shannon Curtin

headshotAbout the Author:

~Winner, 2014 ELJ Publications Mini-Collection Competition~

Shannon J. Curtin is a displaced Yankee currently residing in Portsmouth, Virginia with her husband and dog. Her poetry has been featured in Short, Fast, and Deadly, Vox Poetica, and The Camel Saloon. She holds an MBA, competitive shooting records, and her liquor. She would probably like you.

It’s also necessary to mention that Shannon’s an enthusiastic supporter and student of The Muse Writer’s Center in Norfolk, Virginia, where many of the poems in File Cabinet Heart were first debuted and workshopped. Her manuscript is a combination of truth and fiction, persona poems and personal history. Her goal was to curate a group of poems that are strong individually and could be woven together to tell the story of a life through love and change.Currently, she’s starting to work on what Ishecan now happily say will be my second manuscript; a collection of poems on mothers and mothering, inspired by her meditations on expecting her first child, due this August.
